Kirklees and Calderdale Care Awards 2026

 

When and where are the Kirklees and Calderdale Care Awards 2026 taking place?

The Kirklees and Calderdale Care Awards 2026 will take place on the 12th November 2026 from 6pm.
 The venue is: Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, Lindley Moor Rd, Elland, Huddersfield HD3 3RH  This black-tie event includes a 3 course meal, entertainment and awards ceremony.

How can I nominate someone for an award?

If you work in an independent, private, or VCSE Adult Social Care setting operating in Kirklees or Calderdale, you can nominate a colleague for an award. These awards are open to all service providers, regardless of size. Everyone deserves a chance to be recognised. Click here to see the categories and complete the nomination form.

Can I nominate myself for an award?

You can only be nominated by a colleague working alongside you in Adult Social Care.

How will I know my nomination has been received?

You will get an on-screen notification and an email to confirm that we have received your entry.

How are award winners determined?

The criteria for each award is displayed on our website, this criteria alongside a scoring matrix will be used by an independent panel to anonymously shortlist candidates. The winner will be the candidate with the highest score.

How will candidates be informed that they are on the shortlist?

Shortlisted candidates will receive email confirmation to inform them that they are a shortlisted finalist in the Kirklees and Calderdale Care Awards 2026.

What period do these awards relate to?

The judges for the Kirklees and Calderdale Care Awards will be looking for outstanding examples of best practice during 2025.

When is the closing date for entries?

10th July 2026 11:59pm

Who can attend the awards evening?

Each finalist will receive a free ticket to the event, along with one free ticket for a guest of their choice. Finalists will then have the opportunity to purchase one additional guest ticket (£55) within a set timeframe. After this time period, their employer may be offered the chance to buy further tickets, subject to availability. You must have a ticket to attend the event.

What changes have been made to the award categories for 2026?

To ensure the Care Awards continue to reflect the evolving adult social care sector, we have made several updates to our award categories for 2026.

New award categories:

  • New to Care Awards
    Recognising someone who has joined the care sector within the last 12 months and has already shown exceptional commitment and potential.
  • End of Life Care Award
    Recognising an individual delivering outstanding end of life care, either in a residential setting or within a person’s own home.

Updates to existing categories:

  • Registered Nurse Award → Nursing Professional Award This category has been renamed and broadened to recognise a wider range of nursing professionals working within adult social care.
  • Senior Care Worker Award → Team Leader Award This category has been renamed to better reflect leadership and supervisory roles across care services.
  • Cook Award + Ancillary Team Member Award → Support Team Member Award
    These categories have been merged to better recognise the wider contribution of support teams within adult social care services.

How much does it cost to purchase an additional ticket?

£55 per ticket.
