In this webinar we will look at: Are we really “replacing” carers — or is tech supporting them? How do workers feel about the narrative, and what does the public expect?
What people fear:
- Losing human touch.
- Tech being deployed mainly to cut costs.
- Loss of jobs or dilution of care quality.
What tech can (and can’t) do:
- Automation of repetitive tasks.
- Robotic assistance vs social connection.
- Can tech replace relational care
Voices from the workforce:
- Morale
- Pressure
- How tech affects burnout
- Whether tech could actually improve working conditions
A provider or innovation expert:
- Show real examples: robotics, AI companions, workflow automation.
- Discuss where tech succeeds and where it fails.
- Academic expert on the use of Robotics in Care
- Voice of people with lived experience
Balance the narrative:
- Tech as an enabler, not a substitution — unless the system forces it.
- What the workforce wants from emerging tech.
Intended outcome
Participants develop a nuanced understanding of the human vs tech debate and see how multiple viewpoints coexist.
Who should attend
- Registered managers
- Responsible individuals and owners
- IT leads and operations managers
- Anyone responsible for data, risk or compliance within a care organisation

The Mental Health Act 2025: What Social Care Providers Need to Know Now
The biggest reform to mental health law in over 40 years is underway.
Are you ready for what it means in practice?
The Mental Health Act 2025 is not a technical update. It is a structural shift in how mental health law will operate across England and Wales and social care will feel the impact.
With Royal Assent granted in December 2025 and phased implementation beginning, the direction of travel is now clear:
- Fewer hospital detentions
- Greater complexity of need in the community
- Stronger legal duties around care planning
- Increased emphasis on autonomy and advance decision-making
- A more assertive, rights-based framework
For adult social care providers, this is not distant policy. It is a strategic and operational issue that requires early preparation.
Join
Anita Rao, Partner at Hempsons LLP, for a practical, no-nonsense webinar and live Q&A exploring what the Act will mean for your organisation and what you should be thinking about now.

Completing the Data Security and Protection Toolkit for the first time:
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) is an online self-assessment tool to help adult social care providers in England to store and share information safely.
It shows you what you need to do to keep people’s information safe, and to protect your business from the risk of a data breach or a cyber attack. It covers both paper and digital records.
It also reassures everyone you work with that you are taking data security seriously, which in turn can open up access to NHSmail and shared records systems such as GP Connect and proxy access. Care providers must have an up-to-date DSPT in place to meet NHS contracts – and local authorities and CQC inspectors increasingly expect you to have it.
Care providers should complete the toolkit at least once a year.
It will cover how to:
- Register for the DSPT – including how to register if you have multiple services and sites
- Complete to Approaching Standards and Standards Met
- Publish your DSPT
- Access free, official support from the Better Security, Better Care programme.

Hear real life examples and academic evaluations of how smart light technology is transforming care delivery in real-world settings.
Join this upcoming webinar, hosted by Digital Care Hub in partnership with Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB, to explore an exciting and ambitious care technology rollout. As part of the Digitising Social Care programme, Lancashire & Cumbria ICB have implemented smart light technology across approximately 75 care homes in their region, supporting over 900 residents, in an attempt to reduce the number of falls in these settings.
This session brings together the full story – starting with the vision and delivery of the programme, followed by first-hand insights from two care providers who have embedded the technology into their day-to-day practice.
You’ll also hear directly from Lancaster University, who will share key findings from their independent evaluation of this project, following the publication of their report due at the end of April.
Whether you’re exploring innovation in care, looking to improve safety and outcomes, or interested in evidence-based approaches to technology adoption, this webinar offers practical insights, honest reflections, and valuable learning you can apply in your own setting.

Review and republish your Data Security and Protection Toolkit
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) is an online self-assessment tool to help adult social care providers in England to store and share information safely.
Because things change, you need to review and republish your toolkit every year so that it reflects your current data and cyber security arrangements. For example, you may have introduced new staff, data systems, technology or services – which in turn will impact on how you manage your information.
This webinar is for care providers who have published before, and are reviewing and republishing their DSPT.
It will cover what has changed within the Toolkit for 2024/25, as well as how to:
• Login to your DSPT account
• Review your DSPT – including what is different if you were previously published at Entry Level or Approaching Standards
• Complete to at least Standards Met
• Publish your DSPT standard
• Access free, official support from the Better Security, Better Care programme.
